- Description:
- Coiled, plate shape. Tag "72 [scratched out] or 73 Insurance list both Mission S Calif". Sticker "Mis 73". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled shallow bowl with steeply flaring sides. Not used. It has a deergrass bundle foundation. The wefts are primarily black-dyed juncus, sumac, and some un-dyed juncus. The basket is primarily woven in black-dyed juncus. The design is a light central five pointed star and 10 light geometric designs on the sides. The basket has a pin-hole starting knot. The basket has an interior workface with a rightward work direction. The weft fag ends are bound under. The coil ending is tapered.
