- Description:
- China, Ching-te-chen attributed, Kiangsi Province. Pitcher, porcelain. Blue and white 'Canton' ware. Tall, oblong tulip shaped bowl with small 'guttered' pouring lip, and broad turned out rim; on short circular pedestal foot. Small 'branch' style coil handle with cut-off projection above. Short vertical blue ribs on lower portion of bowl. Underglaze blue river, temple and willow scene on upper exterior body. Four swasticas on base above scalloped band and plain wide blue band at bottom. Band on inner side of rim with dark crosshatch lines on blue. Chip and crack in side. Lip spout broken. Height 10.7 centimeters, maximum length 18 centimeters.
