- oil plate (lantern saucer), ceramic. thick, flat w/ rim; stylized floral motif drawn on center in underglaze brown and black, on a creamy white ground now encrusted w/ oil and dirt, w/ gray-brown appearance. surface very worn; rim has many chips. dia 22.6 cm. floral design similar to 9-12280
