Starting at the starting knot and heading up the neck there is .5 inch of three strand twining followed by plain twining with the last two rows in three strand twining. The (upper) rim is trimmed. The main design is three parallelograms on the base and diagonal lines of maidenhair fern on the upper portion. The basket has a rightward work direction, with an up to the right slant of weft twist. The basket has a single-sided overlay with the design on the exterior. The weft overlay has not been trimmed on the upper interior. The workface is on the exterior. The basket is from Northwestern California.
