Description:
Basket support (?). Two wood hoops each wrapped in straw; connected with thin twig regularly zigzagging between and woven into place; one hoop smaller than the other. Diam. 19 cm., Ht. 7.5 cm. Probably basket supports for head carrying and probably Laotian. Identified as Lao “basi,” a collar for setting round bottomed baskets for their support. See 9-17169.
