Round, flat base, flaring sides, circular geometric design in dark and light brown on natural ground, coiled. Tag "Cahuilla att." probably Larry Dawson's handwriting per Ralph Shanks. Per Ralph Shanks: Broad low bowl in winnower shape, not used. The materials include a deergrass bundle foundation; sumac weft background and designs in orange juncus outlined by black-dyed juncus. The design is a horizontal zigzag around the side of the basket. Workface is on the interior. Rightward warp direction with bound under weft fag ends. The basket has a plain-wrapped rim with a herringbone end. There is a hair woven into the basket. Cahuilla attribution is by Larry Dawson is probaly based on the design layout.
