Trousers, sealskin, fur out. Modified “leggings pants” cut aptly. Copying European sailor pants. Has front crotch flap and side pieces but no waist loops or drawstring. Waistband of sealskin. Cuffs of hairless sealskin with out drawstrings. Cloth loop in back (for hanging ?) Length 89 cm. “White man’s pants- seal whaler’s trousers”- Robert Mayakok, 2.1.’62. Said to be part of costume of sixteen year old girl, collected while on Greeley relief expedition.
