Description:
Enamel mug with lid. The white ground is transferred with an image of two children dressed as Red Guards in front of a red flag marked "2008." They strike poses reminiscent of Cultural Revolution. Below the image is a slogan in red, “Serve the Olympics” (为奥运服務Wei Aoyun fuwu). Blue bowstring decorates the rim. The edge of the lid was sprayed with red pigment.

At Beijing shop in 798 Art District. Inscription: Two marks on foot. The one in blue: “Bell (Brand), Handan, Henan Province” (钟…河南郸城Zhong… Henan Dan cheng); In black: “Madame Mao’s Dowry” (毛太设计Mao tai sheji), in both Chinese and English. Condition: good.
