Description:
Plain - twined flat basket. Three complex bands in red. 5-2003 Basket move comment: Twined overlay basket with round shape and flaring sides. Three bands, one of parallelograms, one of zigzag lines, and one of checkerboard in red/brown on natural ground. Bands separated by rows of reinforced twining. Rim broken in one area. Per Ralph Shanks: Pomo winnowing tray. Start is 3-strand twining for 4cm; 3 bands of lattice twining encircling basket between designs; most of basket is plain twining with sedgeroot weft with red bud designs; warp sticks are probably willow. Design is in 3 bands: first is paired parallelograms circling basket; second is pair of zigzags; bottom is band with rectangular pairs. Dau marks on upper 2 bands.
