Description:
Kwa eagle katsina (kachina); carved and painted figure. Case mask with blue face, rectangular black eyes; eagle’s beak and rounded, flat, red "ears"; feather and rawhide headdress attached to a purple crown. White fur ruff. Body painted black and yellow, lower legs, feet and arms yellow. Bird wings attached to outstretched arms. Bandolier of leather with shells crosses at chest, left to right. Wears blue leather armlet, white fur kilt, leather knee bands with bells and red and white yarn anklets. White fur tail with apron at rear. Raymond Packett, carver.
