Description:
The top register has a decal band of repeated pink flowers. Below, there are two inscriptions, each arranged in two rows. Inscription: The front of the mug reads: “New Light Underwear Dyeing Plant award at 1957 plant competition” (新光内衣染织厂 一九五七年厂际竞赛奖 Xinguang neiyi ranzhi chang yi jiu wu qi nian changji jingsai jiang). The inscription on the back reads: “Build Socialism” (建设社会主义 jianshe shehui zhuyi). Kiln mark: “Product of Fourth Ceramic Industry Commune, Jingdezhen, Jiangxi” (江西景德镇市第四瓷器工業社出品 Jiangxi Jingdezhen shi di si ciqi gongyeshe chupin). Inscriptions contain a couple of simplified characters that were issued in 1956 and subsequently withdrawn.
