Feather fragment on wood fragment. Short piece of cane; red feathers secured by a very fine string and possibly, as well, by a mastic. Possibly a woodpecker feather. Cane length: 26.5 mm, maximum width: 3.2 mm. String diameter: 0.5 mm. Length of feathers (approximate): 6.7 mm. (Richard F. Ambro).
