Comment:
Per Ralph Shanks: It is a coiled basket, oval shaped with one handle. The open side has one diagonal coil running through it. It has a cattail foundation with willow background with a leftward warp direction. Designs are in devils claw of black rectangles. The rim is black done in diagonal overstitching. The starting knot is oval. The basket has a weaver's hair in it. This basket was probably made for sale prior to the 1950’s due to the use of aboriginal materials. 1-14639 and 2-14639 are written on two different paper tags as well as an original number 57.
