(b) One wood pithwad making tool; a simple rod with pointed end. Length 17 cm. (c-f) Six pithwads. (i) Knife sharpener, rectangular piece of slate, attached to wood stopper by cordage which is ornamented with three trade beads. Length slate 9.8 cm. Used for preparing and carrying the wadding that is attached to the end of the poison dart. Pithwar: Cone shaped piece of balsa attaches to mouth end of dart, it is what on blows against to propel the dart. Tool is for making a hole in the pithwad into which one inserts the dart. Pithwad 2 cm long. The stone attached is for sharpening knives and is not part of the “taviq kefarq.”
