Cooking basket; twined. Warp and weft are Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Red pattern is Redbud. Very old diagonal twined, with alternate (zigzag design) of white and red. The pattern in this basket is very unusual on account of the fact that the zigzags are but a single stitch in width and give the effect of a herring bone pattern.
