Twined basket tray. White overlay ground, 1-faced, floated on back; 3 brown zigzag designs radiate from bottom (point) of basket, shows on outside. Mostly plain twined; 3- strand twining from start about 3.5 cm radius; also one row 2 cm from rim. Very flexible. Two tags: "Nongatl". Per Ralph Shanks: Twined basket tray. Crossed warp starting knot. Probably willow warps and conifer root wefts with a beargrass overlay and strings towards the rim. Starting at the starting knot there is three strand twining for 1 3/4 inch, followed by plain twining up to 1 inch below the rim where there is one weft row of three strand twining, followed by plain twining to the rim. The rim is trimmed. The design is three vertical bands of zigzags outlined by triangles. The workface is on the exterior. The overlay design is primarily on the exterior. The basket has a rightward work direction and an up to the right slant of weft twist.
