Subjects (left-right) (a) young girl (with straw hat, green/white stripe dress), (b) young boy (purple jacket, white lace collar/cuff), (c) Louis XVI (in pink jacket with gold embroidery), and (d) Marie Antoinette (in blue dress, four strings of pearls, elaborate hair). Each miniature is oval, set in oval metal bezel (of rose/yellow gold wreath pattern) on wood frame covered with gold stamped, burgundy leather. Leather removed from back of case. Case folds. Probable interior decoration. 37.8 x 11.49 cm.
