Plaque, iron, reproduction, elliptical with a raised bumpy rim and gold-colored raised eagle on a black background on front. The back reads in raised lettering: “Facsimile of ins. co. of N.A. Fire Mark issued in 1830” L- 29 cm, W- 22 cm. Used as proof for having fire insurance. The plaque would be hung outside in plain view. The letter on the back indicated the trademark of the insurance company.
