- Coiled, plate shape. Tag "7. Porter Mission Type Nov 1938". Tag on interior "Nov. 1938 7 Porter". Per Ralph Shanks: Flaring bowl. The basket has a deergrass bundle foundation, the start has a cotton-like fiber warp for four coils. The basket has orange juncus design wefts and sumac background wefts. The design is a central flower with 10 petals. The weft fag ends are clipped and the work direction is to the right. The workface is on the interior. The basket has a plain wrapped rim with a tapered coil ending with three backstitches. There is a hair woven in the interior. Based on the clipped fag ends and other features the basket is attributed to Cahuilla.
