Description: "Type called "hohoa" for preliminary beating. The first beating spreads the inner bast (just under the bark). Ridges ("nao") vary from 8 to 9 per 12 3/4 x 1 7/8 Hardwood (made by male specialists for use by women). Beating surface. Finest surface has 15 to the inch.
