Description:
4" x 5" Negative. Expedition truck stuck in a swamp, leaning heavily to the right. In between For Archambault and Fort Lamy. Hoefler's original description: "Vaccum Oil Co. Congo. Between Fort Archambault, French Congo and Fort Lamy, the expedition went through the worst possible country on a motor car, its tires and engine. The heat was around 120 in the shade. It was necessary to plough through miles of sand and out of many mud holes. Under these conditions motor oil gets its real test and Mobiloil A performed its part without a hitch. Here we are stuck in a swamp where it required three days to make six miles.
