- Burden board. Reddish brown wood, no signs of wear. Handles at opposite ends. Concave top, depression on underside to fit head. Length across top 43.5 centimeters. From Nigeria (Northern Plateau), Jarawa peoples. Context of use: called "head-carrying board" by collector. Probably used to carry loads in baskets on top of head.
