Faja. Section of unwoven warp at one end, with stabilizing wefts and warp loops. Cut warp ends at other end. Plain weave. Blue warp with 3 green warp stripes. Dense multicolored single faced geometric supplementary weft patterning covering over one half of faja. Woven by a 12-year-old relative of Albertina’s. Weaving reflects inexperienced weaver. Purchased from Albertina Lopez Cumez [as she was then known] of SCP by ACW in Mendocino, CA, in May 2004. 2 paper tags on back of faja: (removed) —“ACW #12” —“Purchased from Albertina Lopez Cumez, of Santa Catarina Palopó, Sololá, Guatemala, in Mendocino, California, May 2004 by A.
