Pipe holder - netsuke : bone, long curved piece carved in relief on one side depicting man w/ long legs (ashinaga) standing next to a tree, short arms raised to face, reading a book held up by a short legged, long arm man (Tenaga), his frequent mythical companion. back side is plain. Very smooth, yellow surface, w/ dark stain in depressions. Base very porous. Long hole on plain side. Cord hole through the wrist of Ashinaga. L. 20.5
