Description:
Wall hanging: constructed from a pair of sleeve bands. Each band, W= 23 cm x L=53.5 cm. Border around panels is sW=3.5 cm including 0.4 cm black edging around inner and outer edges of border. Sleeve bands appear to be almost mirror images of each other. Two phoenixes on each sleeve band, a bat, sun and clouds, plus mountain images at top quarter of panels. Flower and plant images on 2nd quarter of upper panel. Phoenix on top of rock, waves and water over half of both panels. Also auspicious Buddhist sign at bottom above water imagery. Ivory background with red/metallic sun; phoenixes are pink, red, green blue, purple, and black; florals and water are brown. Backing is fine light blue silk. Border panel is woven in brown /green with off-white & blue/gray floats in images .
