LACE MANTILLA: Probably CHANTILLY. Half of large black lace mantilla divided diagonally. Coarse hexagonal net. Center portion has scattered flowers on curving branches w. leaves. Border of flowers droops into center of large linked rectangles. Edge border of flower or leaf motif in large or small rectangles. Lace, net. Black. Cut edge hemmed. Picot edging has faded to brown. Before 1906. The other half was made into a bustle. Edge and center holes - one mended w. net. 54 inch diagonal on double.
