Dress made of two pieces in silk. Waist and skirt are printed damask, taffeta underskirt with lace, chiffon and velvet trim. White ground with purple, black, yellow and green designs and a white underskirt. Floral motifs. a.) bodice - dips to 'v' in center front, boning in front and back. Hish neckline tulle and silk chiffon, violet silk, velvet ribbon edge (2 bands 5/8") with embroideredwith white small twist thread. Cream silk, printed in yelloe, breen, purples, floral pattern of roses, buds, violets, leaves, stems. Black dots large at bottom of pattern, smaller and dispersed at top. Full 3/4" trimmed with eggshell chiffon. Center bodice of chiffon, large pieces of hand-made pillow lace. Applique black lace motif resembling grapes on either breast. Fastened in back with silver-colored hooks and eyes. Piped waist, ruffle of lace goes over the shoulders (like a pinafore). 4 appliqued violet flower scattered on bodice. b.) skirt- same printed fabric, lace appliques 8-10" above hem, goes around skirt with pennant of crew lace and medallion of crew lace, edged on bottom with scallop of black lace. (4 in total). Pleated front, loose pleats about 1/2" deep int o center. 4 lace appliques down front (2 large 2 small) and black grape-like motifs. Lined in weighted silk taffeta. Knotted bow with 4 streamers in silk chiffon at center back. 3 hooks in waist to fasten skirt to bodice. Hem lined with satin ribbon (cream) to protect hem from wear. Lining has 2 deep flounces trimmed with small ruffle of taffeta.
