- Description:
- Cream colored silk satin, over bright pink silk taffeta. The hemline of the dress is trimmed with a deep 3.5 to 4 inch flounce of cream colored silk chiffon. Rococo revival because of the apron effect of the skirt resembling and updated stylized version of panniers. The front of the skirt has a fill of the silk chiffon and the apron of the cream silk satin is edged with rushing of the silk chiffon. At some time there were either little flowers centered with a sequin appliqued on the silk chiffon panel, two remain on the front panel and there are four on the proper left. The hem is filthy and the cream colored silk satin has started to split and I advise that it be deaccessioned before I even begin speaking. What remains of the bodice is primarily of the cream colored silk satin has a cumberbund style of pink velveteen and there is a small drape and knot of pink velveteen with a knot at the side or the top. -- Inez Brooks-Myers
