MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with cotton singles in white, red, yellow, green, purple. Suppl. weft brocading in cotton: four singles in red, yellow, green, purple and silk floss in white, purple and fuchsia. Geometric: birds and cross iconography. CONTEXT OF USE: Collector's tape tag attached "#40, $15." (sic "$40, $15"). Six large crosses at four corners and at center on each side of the randa. In the center of each cross four birds, one at each corner of the square. Geometric designs all over the cloth. Colored wefts placed in same shed as white wefts create a shadow effect; a very special cloth. CONSERVATION: Good, although soiled.
