Mask, helmet type. Ntene wood, hollow. Upturned face of man with protruding chin, bulging cheeks, open mouth with tongue protruding. Tonsured head. Wood plug for hole in top of skull. Large crack from left ear to top of skull. Greyish cast to grain of carving. Disproportionately large neck. Height circa 23.5 cm, Width 18.8 cm. From East Africa, Tanzania, Bantu, Mkonde, near Dar-es-Salaam.
