Start of coiled basket, made of string with a flag leaf and grass foundation. Flag leaves are on the inside and grass on outside of coil bundle. This was done in order to produce a "pretty green effect". According to Ruth Merrill, the warp is Epicampes, Cattail string, and Iris leaf.
