Description:
The standard dress for Chipaya women was entirely homespun and hand woven. It appears to consist of a Spanish style blouse with tailored sleeves, a pre-Hispanic style dress that is open at the top, where it is pulled together and pinned over each shoulder with an ornamental pin held in place with a string, a wrap-around skirt. The sod block construction of the house shows here particularly well.
