MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with cotton thread; two ply predominantly red, plus white and blue. Suppl. weft brocading in cotton and silk floss. CONTEXT OF USE: At one end of the belt there is a 4" x 1 1/2" extension with end selvedge cut with fringe. This end is tucked in last after wrapping the belt around the waist. CONSERVATION: Good, although frayed at edges and soiled.
