- Description:
- Twined, bowl shape with incurving rim. Per Ralph Shanks: Probably a cooking basket, used. Three strand twining at the base, and plain twined on the sides. Warp sticks are hazel. Conifer root weft with beargrass overlay. Black designs are probably maidenhair fern. Some rim and base damage. Staining on outside and inside. Designs include four diamonds surrounded by triangles. At the rim is a narrow stripe, two weft rows wide. Ther is a zigzag design around the base.
