Winnowing basket; twined. Warp is Willow (Salix), weft is Maple (Acer macrophyllum). Pattern is maple bark. Triangular and flat in form, openwork diagonal twined. No decoration. Rim is somewhat damaged.

Used to winnow and to clean seeds after harvesting them. Barrett notes that "the seeds are beaten on to this flat (basket) with a seed beater and then sifted by blowing and tossing. Then the seeds are deposited in the burden basket.
