Description:
Cast of small early Greek relief. From a small bronze plaque found at Olympia. Made by an Argive artist probably of the 8th or 7th Century B.C. Compare Olympia IV Plate 39. Freiderichs-Wolters 345. Subject: the rage of Kassandra (Cassandra). Ajax, full-armed, seizes the Trojan princess, who clings, kneeling, to a statue of Athena. Relief features Homeric epic scene.
