Context of use:
Use of the Maiduan word "kamini" in Powers (1877: 286) suggests that it was a generic term for "dance". However, the term also occurs with the God-Impersonating cult that came to the Miwok from the Maidu. Kroeber (1925: 364-90) gives the fullest account of the God-Impersonating cult as a whole.
