4" x 5" Negative. Group of gold-crested cranes in middle ground, Nigeria. Hoefler's original description: "Nigeria. Golden Crested Cranes. One of the sights seen by the expedition as it crossed the miles of dried up swamps between Fort Lamy and the Nigerian border was thousands of these beautiful birds. Geese and ducks were found on every pond of water no matter how small.
