- Materials: Glazed porcelain Diameter at rim: 15.5 cm Date: late 1950s-1960s Country: People’s Republic of China Description: The exterior features four bold characters admonishing “Be industrious and thrifty in managing household” (勤儉持家 qinjian chijia). Characters are outlined in red and set between a decorative band of red and green patterns and flowers around the rim and, below, a red bowstring. Inscription: An unreadable red circular factory kiln mark on foot. Almost identical bowl CB67 has seal “Product of Nantong Ceramic Factory, Jiangsu” (江苏南通瓷厂出品 Jiangsu Nantong cichang chupin). Place of Origin: China, probably Nantong, Jiangsu Province Condition: Good. Signs of wear Acquisition Data: Beijing, probably Panjiayuan. 2001-2005
