Basketry covered bottle, twined. Per Ralph Shanks: Achumawi or Atsugewi. Lid is missing. Handle is loose, partially has been sewn back on. Conifer root weft, beargrass overlay maidenhair fern for designs. Designs include star pattern at the shoulder, stripes at the neck. Three strand twining at base and neck, and rim of base is coiled for stability. Most of basket is plain twining. Basket appears used.
