Comment:
MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: : Backstrap-loomed of cotton thread: predominantly red, white, plied red/blue that gives purple effect. CONTEXT OF USE: Ceremonial blouse. Appears to have been made by a young girl or an arthritic older woman as weaving is uneven. Iconography: geometrics, animals (horses?) and characteristic dots. Double headed eagles indicate ceremonial huipil. White yarn handspun and dyed (Arrioloa de Geng). See also 3-29692-95 CONSERVATION: Very good. Frayed at neck.
