This is a Nepali (Gorkha) khukuri knife with a leather scabbard and the two small tool knifes, the chakma for sharpening the khukuri and the karda is a small knife for use when the large blade is not needed. The khukuri is used in battle and fighting, as well as chopping wood, flesh or bone. Its large, heavy curved blade is ideal both for slashing and chopping. At the base of the khukuri's blade is a notch in the form of a trident. This is the trident of the Hindu God Shiva, known for his power to annihilate whatever opposes him. This khukuri is not military grade, but is designed for civilian use for protection and occasional fights rather than regular battle use. This is indicated by the small short ornamental horn handle and light blade. Compare with the military khukuri T-202.Khukuris in collection: T-88; T-89; T-202; T-203
