Fan: folding, silk multicolored panels in purple, green, aqua; obverse shows painted birds, gourds, flowers, mirrored on reverse; trick fan; mounted on lacquered bamboo with light gilding and black. Trick fan: practical joke; opened the wrong way (right to left) it falls into pieces; opened the right way (left to right) panels hood together and the fan opens normally.
