shabti box; wooden box painted white with black hierogyphs all around the center, bordered top and bottom with a thick red line. wooden pegs hold the width sides to the length sides, which can be seen through the paint. the bottom, one width side, does not meet, is made of two planks (one much wider and thicker than the other). the lid is made up of three planks pegged and gessoed together. the lid is also painted white with a red-lined border with three lines bending down. in the center, there is a square hole for attachment. lid is pegged to the box, one on each side. text: "An offering that the King gives to Osiris, Foremost of the Westerners, the Great God, Lord of Abydos, that he may cause [...] to go forth [...] Osiris, Lord of the Necropolis, Meresamun.
