figure, 'Kuan-Yin', porcelain, blanc de chine: represented standing on dome shaped base w/ high relief wave pattern. long flowing mantle w/ deep folds; arms slightly crossed. simple modelling face. incised hair. rosary on chest; bracelets. 1 pointed edge of garment broken and mended, yellow discoloration. small pressed seal mark of 4 characters on back. hollow base and interior. H. 41.8 cm., max. W. 11 cm.
