A black-and-white photographic print of a young man, Gwailor State, Central India. Attached paper label reads: "Stories in Pictures - By: Paul L. Hoefler, F. R. G. S., N.E.C., INDIA THE MAGNIFICENT -- Land of Princes - Palaces - Pagentry. The renowned explorer and author has just returned from years spent in the Far East where he gathered thousands of remarkable photographs and material for another book. He lived with the leading Princes of India and as a member of their family circle was able to obtain material never before made available to an American. Photograph shows the young Prince in his Durbar Dress, the official court dress of the ruling princes of Gwalier. The almost-priceless ropess of pearls around his neck are amongst the finest in the world and are worth many lakhs of rupees.
