Sword or dagger, ceremonial; whole is assembled on interior base of iron rod with gold leaf cover; stacked on this is network of Chinese “cash” coins held together with red, yellow, green string. In temple ceremonies, as ritual paraphernalia; the coins used to make this object are Ch’ing dynasty, probably late 19th century; reverse inscription gives reign and imperial name in Manch rather than Chinese.
