CONTEXT OF USE: Neckband and sleeves finished in red/red-orange randa contrasting with blue randa at side seams and centers front and back. Entire huipil surface decorated with brocading except a narrow blue band near hem. Small tie closure at neck. Possible weaver's mark in red at center front along top of central band of zigzag pattern. Some designs such as central band "arco " are similar to those in huipiles from San Antonio Aguas Calientes in San Antonio Aguas Calientes (Schevill-1986). Randas at sides and arco grande in central band indicate ceremonial huipil. See also 3-29620-22 CONSERVATION: overall good; brocading starting to wear away along front hem.
