Comment:
The extremely high efficiency of the basket is derived from the narrow elements used throughout for the warps and wefts. The effect is one of transparency. However, where opacity was needed in the base, the elements are wide and closely woven. It has become misshapen with use and the side that has sagged would probably have been that which was on the outside.
