MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Cotton and silk floss. Neckpiece of magenta taffeta embroidered with silk floss: white, magenta, gold, light blue and pink. CONTEXT OF USE: Ceremonial or cofradía huipil, one of 27 huipiles from Sacapulas. Iconography: Geometric. Weaver's mark, an embroidered semi-circle on back side of front panel in lower part. The weaver's mark, light and dark purple silk in weft is cochineal dyed (Carlsen). See also 3-29666 and 3-29679 CONSERVATION: Good, although neckpiece worn and some stains.
